Your Country Club needs YOU!
Everything you need to know about becoming a valued member of an elite group
The Lake Bar Volunteers
Who we're looking for and what you can bring.
Can you tell the difference between a wine and a beer, or are you willing to learn? Can you open a fridge? Can you pour wine in to a glass? Can you press a few buttons on a computer screen, and check that you've pressed the right ones?
Was that a Yes? Sounds good, you're in!
What's in it for you?
Not only will you get to take part in an interesting people oriented activity that will let you meet a significant number of you fellow Maroochy Quays residents, you will also experience that sense of contentment that comes from doing good for your fellow humans, both by providing a valued service to you fellow residents and by financially supporting your Home Owners Committee. It's a win/win!
How to get started.
The simplest first step is to mention to the bar staff or one of the bar managers that you're interested in helping out on the Lake Bar, give them your name and contact details and ask to be included in the next available training session. You could also take up the HOC's offer of completing a subsidised Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate which would then qualify you as a bar supervisor.
How to get an RSA
On online search for "rsa queensland online" will present you with many options for obtaining a Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate that is valid in Queensland. One option of those many is offered by ClearToWork, who offer the course "QLD RSA Online - SITHFAB021" at a cost of $19.90. Whichever course you choose, you will probably need to create an account, and possibly register for an Australian unique student identifier (USI) at www.usi.gov.au.
Assessment requirements may vary, and typically will require responses to multiple choice questions and possibly videoed responses to specific scenarios (which is not as difficult as it sounds (most of the time ..)). Quite a few residents have already done this course, so help is always available if required. Once you have completed the online course, you can request reimbursement of the course fees from the HOC by submitting copies of your RSA certificate and receipts to secretary@mquays.com.au, and you can then sign up for any shift on the roster! Great work!
